KING CHARLES SOAKED AND SNAPPING: “WHERE’S THE UMBRELLA?!”
King Charles looked anything but regal as a sudden Caribbean downpour hit Antigua and Barbuda’s 45th Independence Day parade. While Queen Camilla was quickly handed a clear umbrella and walked off to cover, the King was left standing in the deluge, repeatedly demanding his own protection from staff.
Video shows him gesturing and calling out as the rain poured, the moment captured just as he arrived at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. He eventually received an umbrella from an equerry and continued with the troop inspection, later joking that he was “growing watercress on my trousers.”
The optics were unavoidable: the head of the Commonwealth, momentarily stranded and visibly irritated, while his wife was sheltered first. A short rain, a long viral clip.
