I know I’ve said this before, but I have to say it again – the government initiative to ensure no underprivileged person starves, during this devastating drought, is just impressive.
Traveling in rural Zambia, you find people being supported one way or another. Officials are busy overseeing one welfare activity or another.
With how I am deeply bothered about how unequal this country is, about the privileged few amidst such lack, I cannot but celebrate how those who exist on the fringes of our society, have been taken care of in this difficult period.
It’s certain that there some gaps in implementation, and that the perenially corrupt will probably dent the full picture somewhat.
Still, on this one, take a bow mwandi, Kateka. You and your government.
