…as UPND cadres attack the CF leader and his entourage at a police station in Mkushi.

A horde of UPND cadres attacked Citizens First party President Harry Kalaba and his entourage after a radio program in Mkushi this afternoon.

The helpless police could not do anything after to protect the CF delegation which was in the district for party mobilization.

Citizens First President Harry Kalaba in interview expressed displeasure at the behavior of the police who instead of protecting them told them to leave the district.

He said the UPND cadres misbehaved right in front of the Mkushi police station and the men in uniform could not do anything to maintain law and order.

Mr. Kalaba said law and order has broken down in the country.

“We were in Mkushi having a radio program when UPND cadres came trying to disrupt the program but the police stopped them. After the program we went to the police station and the UPND reinforced themselves and came with stones and attacked us” Mr. Kalaba said.

” The UPND cadres were misbehaving in front of the police and they couldn’t do anything. After that the Mkushi police officer in Charge a Mr. Munembu told us to leave the district because they could not quarantee our safety because they had no enough man power and later escorted us out of the district. Law and order has broken down in this country, ” the CF leader said.
