LAZ CANES GOVERNMENT, RESPECT THE UN REPORT
THE NEW DAWN GOVERNMENT MUST TAKE SERIOUSLY THE UN EXPERTS REPORT EXPRESSING CONCERN WITH THE DOWNWARD SPIRAL OF
INFRINGEMENTS ON FUNDAMENTAL FREEDOMS AND TAKE IMMEDIATE REMEDIAL ACTION
The Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) has received the United Nations Special Rapporteuss’ report expressing concern about multiple allegations of arbitrary arrests and detentions on charges of,inter-alia, unlawful assembly, espionage, hate speech and seditious practices against opposition political party leaders and members, parliamentarians, human rights defenders and activists, as well as restrictions on gatherings, meetings, peaceful protests and rallies in Zambia, with a deep sense of sadness.
Regrettably, the Special Rapporteurs’ report represents the concerning trend which LAZ has on numerous times called on the Government to redress, so as to assure the free and unfettered access to the rights and freedoms citizens are guaranteed under the Bill of Rights of our Constitution.
The Constitution’s edicts require that those governing must ensure that the expressed rights and freedoms are enjoyed, not just by those who support them, but even those who express divergent views or belong to different political parties.
Even at the moment, we are aware of three youths Jason Mwanza,Chanda Chikwanka and Ezekiel Thomas Zulu who are in Police custody for merely expressing their constitutionally guaranteed right to protest.
We therefore agree with the Report’s recommendations for the Government “to deescalate tensions” in the country by upholding “”constitutionally guaranteed rights; ● create a safe and enabling environment for civic space;
●expedite legislative reforms, including the Public Order Act, the Penal Code and the State Security Act;
●ensure the functioning of the National Mechanism for Implementation and Follow-up; and instltute measures to ensure that State actors and institutions, Including the Zambia Police Service, protect human dignity and rights.”
LAZ remains able, willing and capable of supporting all progressive remedial steps so that Citizens can freely enjoy their rights as enshrined in our laws.
The press release on a matter of public interest and promotion of the rights and liberties of citizens has been issued in furtherance of LAZ’s mandate under Section 4 of the Law Association of Zambia Act No. 31 of the Laws of Zambia.

You Mr. Zulu do you know that the Chief Justice was involved in a road accident you can’t even say a word or wish him quick recovery but always on UPND and PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema. Why can’t you people reform?.
Why can’t you be sober? The Lungu PF you always defend and support even mostly in the wrong, was not in every sphere good to majority Zambians let alone the few of like furthers flying together. But as president of the Law association of Zambia you have to be neutral and consider what to do first while not making you to comment on everything just my thought as we see you between the lines, but why can’t you wish our head of Judiciary ( one of you first ) well any way may be you are with them that dream and always do wrong, anyway – just imagination.
As Zambians we have to be sober as the scriptures tells us.

Wishing our Chief Justice quick recovery in the Christ JESUS’S name
You’re very misguided. What he can do on the personal level doesn’t have to be published or posted on social media. But that which concerns the affairs of this nation which of course requires his office to address has to be published like it is the case. NOT everyone is born of a hyena’s political party like you.
It’s a pity that the efforts of the current government are noted and appreciated by some quarters including an important wing like LAZ. Surely and honestly the current government may not have achieved 100% of the needful but a lot of efforts and achievements have been scored far more than other previous administrations. Please let us give credit to where it’s due whether you are in opposition or not. The UN report was not accurate. The fact that UN is an important wing doesn’t justify in correctness. What matters are those who handled it. They could have been biased or lacked sufficient or correct information. UPND has worked hard and achieved so much in barely 3 years.
Reference to my above article I meant IT’S A PITY THAT THE EFFORTS OF THE CURRENT GOVERNMENT ARE NOT NOTED AND APPRECIATED.

When lawyers are busy stealing clients Money LAZ is dumb and numb. When ECL was threatening Jugdes LAZ was dumb, when ECL was commanding Kampyongo to fire live ammunition and tire gass live never said anything significant rebuking ECL. Currently their two member lawyers Shamakamba and his colleagues are fighting in the public over corruption allegations LAZ is silent. It’s difficult to understand the Moral campus of LAZ leaders. Moreover those boys and girls from the UN don’t reside in Zambia so they are grossly ignorant of facts on the ground or they are grossly misinformed
The problem with LAZ is that it is managed by incompetent and inexperienced mother fckers like this Lungisani Zulu. What does this raw boy know really? He has no experience and their comments on important national issues reflects that view.
In serious countries, LAZ would have been under the hands of someone equivalent to a Supreme Court Judge with at least 25 years of legal practice!
In Zambia, this small dickhead doesn’t even know is all about and mixes it with Politics due to ignorance.
What a pity! This is a sample of Zambian intelligentia!!!
