LUBINDA ACCUSES PRESIDENT HICHILEMA OF HYPOCRISY OVER LUNGU FUNERAL CONTROVERSY

The Patriotic Front (PF) has accused President Hakainde Hichilema of hypocrisy following his remarks that he limited international travel out of respect for the funeral of late former President Edgar Lungu.
At a media briefing, acting PF president Given Lubinda argued that the president’s decision to end the national mourning period contradicted his stated intention to honor the late leader.
Lubinda further criticized the government’s legal action involving Attorney General Mulilo Kabesha, who reportedly filed a lawsuit against the former First Family over the burial arrangements in South Africa.
Lubinda condemned the inclusion of South Africa’s Foreign Affairs Minister in the legal proceedings, calling it a national embarrassment. He urged the government to avoid inflammatory remarks and actions that could further strain relations with the Lungu family and undermine national unity.
The controversy stems from the decision by Lungu’s family to bury the former president in South Africa, citing a lack of government support and alleged breaches of funeral agreements. The PF maintains that the government failed to honor its commitments and mishandled the mourning process.
This dispute has sparked broader calls for legal clarity on state funerals and highlighted lingering political tensions between the ruling UPND and the opposition.
Pf you are going to the grave with Lungu. Mark my words. The people are angry with pf, you will be punished heavily at the next generation elections. This delay in burying Lungu because pf doesn’t like HH to preside over the state funeral of Lungu will cost you dearly. Pf will be wiped out of the political landscape in Zambia. BURYING ECL IN SOUTH AFRICA IS IMPOSSIBLE BECAUSE;
1. HE WAS TECHNICALLY AN ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT IN SOUTH AFRICA AT THE TIME OF HIS DEATH, HAVING EXCEEDED HIS 90 DAY STAY IN SOUTH AFTICA.
2. HE WAS IN SOUTH AFRICA HAVING POTENTIALLY FRAUDULENT POSSESION OF MORE THAN ONE PASSPORT UNDER DIFFERENT COUNTRIES, A CRIMINAL OFFENCE THAT CAN EARN HIM DEPORTATION POSTHUMOUSLY
3. ECL HAS LEFT QUESTIONS ABOUT HIS DEATH BEING GENUINE AS HE PROMISED ZAMBIANS THAT HE SHALL BE ON THE BALLOT IN 2026- MUNAGAWA HAVING ASKED RUSSIA TO ASSIST ZIMBABWE TO GUARD AGAINST ZAMBIA DUE TO THE SUSPECTED PRESENCE OF AFRIFORUM IN ZAMBIA.
4. ZIMBABWE HAVING RECEIVED VARIOUS TYPES OF ARMAMENTS INCLUDING BOATS IN A COUNTRY WITH NO RIVERS TO TALK ABOUT EXCEPT THE ZAMBEZI WHICH IT SHARES WITH ZAMBIA IS ONE COUNTRY WHOSE PASSPORTS ECL USED TO GO INTO AND OUT OF SOUTH AFRICA BEFORE HIS ALLEDGED DEATH
5. ALL HIS FORMER ALLIES SUCH AS KAISER ZULU, JJ AND RECENTLY KAPWEPWE -‘THE FREEDOM FIGHTER’ ARE PURPORTEDLY UNDER ZIMBABWEAN PROTECTION AND THE POSIBILITY OF ECL ‘RISING FROM THE ASHES’ TO WEDGE WAR AGAINST THE LEGITIMATE ZAMBIAN GOVERNMENT IS BECOMING A POSSIBILITY.
THE RECENT RUMOURS OF THE FAMILY POSSESING MORE THAN 150 LUXIARY VEHICLES AT A MANSION IN HIGH END BLUE VALLEY IN SOUTH AFRICA ADDS TO THE SUSPICION THAT THE VEHICLES COULD ENTER ZAMBIA AS THOUGH FOR SALE YET FHEY ARE MEANT TO DISGUISE AN ARMED MOVEMENT.
SO, UNTIL IT IS PROVEN THAT ECL IS INDEED NO MORE, THERE SHALL BE A MANHUNT FOR HIM NO MATTER HOW DISGUISED HE MAY BE, SO SOME LAWYER HAS SOME EXPLAINING TO DO HERE.
To be honest, the PF made a significant error by misleading the Lungu family into supporting the poor decision to bury the body of the sixth President in South Africa was indeed a grave mistake.
The choice to bury the Late President Edgar Chagwa Lungu was made by his wife, Esther Lungu, and their children, stemming from anger and resentment, especially given that they have active court cases ongoing. Their plans are aimed at hindering any government efforts to pursue their criminal investigations. Conversely, this was an opportunity for the PF to assert their influence over the arrangements for the burial and overshadowing the government. Additionally, the PF and the Tonse Alliance exploited the death of former Sixth President Edgar Chagwa Lungu to garner sympathy and portray the UPND government as cruel, referencing past court cases involving the Lungu family as acts of persecution and the removal of his benefits and other entitlements as punishment.
The PF took advantage of Edgar Chagwa Lungu hypocritically by pressuring him to re-enter active politics, despite his resignation and their awareness of his serious health challenges. The PF continued to abuse him even in death.
The controversy surrounding the delayed burial of former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu should not be attributed to President Hakainde Hichilema, but rather to the PF, the compromised clergy, and Makebi Zulu. What they thought would be a straightforward process to embarrass the government has now turned into a self-created obstacle. Their animosity towards President Hakainde Hichilema has only intensified, aiming to unjustly place all the blame on him.

I think Lubinda should do away with funeral politics, they do not add any value and people have since moved on
Bo Lubinda can just do good to retire from politics.I wonder why PF faction count him as a good player.In football he could have been made a spectator.Not even on a technical bench.His contributions to PF have not been helpful of late.The PF could have considered people like honourable Chungu unless ba Chungu is not interested any more in politics.We need a credible opposition not where we are today.There is no opposition it seems.When they think of talking politics what comes in mind is name of HH.They throw lies and fake news where the people of Zambia are tired of such nauseating insinuations.They dwell on un factual issues.Honourable Chabinga is good too they just disturb him.
