MAFINGA MP FAITH MUNTHALI GRANTED POLICE BOND
Mafinga Member of Parliament Faith Munthali has been granted police bond after being detained by the Zambia Police Service in Muchinga Province.
Police say Munthali was arrested and detained on September 12th, 2026, in connection with charges of conspiracy to commit a crime and accessory after the fact, contrary to sections 394 and 397 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
According to Assistant Police Public Relations Officer Timothy Malumo, Munthali was yesterday granted police bond and has since been released after meeting the bond requirements.
She is scheduled to appear before the Principal Resident Magistrate’s Court in Isoka District on Thursday, September 17th, 2026.
The Zambia Police Service says it remains committed to upholding the Bill of Rights as enshrined in the Constitution of Zambia, including the rights of suspects.
