Government has dismissed as false reports that President PArthur Peter Mutharika has travelled to India from South Africa.
Chief Secretary to Government Justin Saidi has told Capital FM a while ago that the President is still in the rainbow nation, contrary to reports circulating on social media and other platforms
Saidi has urged the public to rely on credible and verified sources of information to avoid spreading unconfirmed reports.
Social media reports that emerged claimed that Mutharika had flown to India for medical attention.
The President left Malawi for South Africa on October 6, 2026, through Kamuzu International Airport on what government described as a private visit.
