MARINE LE PEN VOWS TO END MILITARY AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR UKRAINE

French far-right leader Marine Le Pen has said that, if her political movement comes to power, France would seek to end its military and financial support for Ukraine, while prioritizing a diplomatic resolution to the war with Russia.

The Rassemblement National (RN) leader reiterated her position that France should take the initiative in pursuing negotiations rather than continuing to support what she views as an open-ended conflict.

Le Pen said France should organize a major international peace conference aimed at bringing the parties toward a negotiated settlement and ending the bloodshed.

«🗣️ “Since the beginning of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, I have called on France to bring together a major peace conference to promote, not the continuation of bloodshed, but a diplomatic settlement to this terrible war,” Le Pen said.»

Her position would represent a significant shift in French foreign and defense policy if implemented, potentially affecting France’s military assistance to Kyiv and its broader role in European efforts to support Ukraine against Russia.

The proposal comes as European governments continue to debate the future of military aid to Kyiv, the prospects for peace negotiations, and the long-term security implications of the war.
