Memphis Depay has officially joined Corinthians on a two-year deal after parting ways with Atlético Madrid as a free agent in July, according to an announcement made by the Brazilian club on Monday.

At 30 years old, Depay boasts an impressive record with the Dutch national team, having netted 46 goals in 98 appearances.

However, he was not included in the Netherlands squad for the ongoing Nations League fixtures.

Ronald Koeman’s team recently secured a 5-2 victory over Bosnia and are set to face Germany on Tuesday.

Despite his move to Brazil, Koeman has made it clear that Depay’s international prospects remain intact and his transfer will not affect future call-ups to the national team.

“I disapproved of Steven Bergwijn’s move to Saudi Arabia; with Memphis, it can be different,” Koeman told reporters on Monday.

“The level of the league in Brazil is different, so yes, he can still be part of the national team, but it depends on his fitness and if he reaches his level.”

Depay started his football journey at PSV Eindhoven and has since played for several prominent clubs, including Lyon, Barcelona, and Manchester United.

During his time at Atlético Madrid last season, he featured in 31 matches across all competitions and found the back of the net nine times.
