NKANDU WELCOMES PLANS BY FAZ TO MEND RELATIONS BETWEEN GRANT AND FASHION

Sports Minister ELVIS NKANDU says all the players called to the Senior Men’s national football should be given an opportunity to play as a way of accessing  those who can add quality and help the team Qualify to the 2025 AFCON tournament.

NKANDU says players, especially those on the substitution bench, have a lot to offer but can only make meaningful contributions when given a chance to play.

He says the technical bench should try by all means  to ensure that they give players an equal Chance as most of them can add value but are constantly kept on the bench.

NKANDU has cited defender MIGUEL CHAIWA and JOSEPH SABOBO BANDA as players that were kept on the bench but have made a significant impact on the team after being given a chance to Play.

Speaking to ZNBC Sport News in an interview, the Minister has further hailed the Football Association of Zambia on its plan to iron out issues between Coach AVRAM GRANT and striker FASHION SAKALA.

NKANDU says the move is welcome as it will ensure that deserving players are given an opportunity to play for the national team.

The Minister has also urged the Under 20 to put up  a good performance as they commence their COSAFA title defense this month.

  1. What is this coach’s winning record? If his performance is dismal…that is enough.
Ba Minister you can take a cow to drink water. But you cant force it to drink.
Grant isnt God. And for you to delve into this issue. You clearly have nothing better to do. Your role is policy not in the nitty gritty of associations. Let them sort these issues on their own.
You are stiffling the ability for Associations to lead and leaders to grow. In short stop miro-managing association. Last time FIFA was theethering on the same issue.
