MILES SAMPA ARRESTED OVER ALLEGED FAKE POLLING STATION CLAIMS

Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa has been arrested after presenting himself to the Zambia Police Service headquarters following the opening of a docket against him for the offence of transmitting unsolicited or deceptive communication, contrary to Section 19 of the Cyber Crimes Act No. 4 of 2025.
The case arises from a Facebook post made by Mr. Sampa on January 15, 2026, in which he alleged that a fake polling station had been set up along Lilayi Road during the Chawama Parliamentary by-election.
Mr. Sampa later publicly apologized for the statement.
This morning, Mr. Sampa, accompanied by Patriotic Front (PF) faction president Given Lubinda and other PF officials, presented himself to the police after a complaint was lodged by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ).
He is currently being held at Lusaka Central Police Station, where senior PF officials are seeking police bond on his behalf.
An official statement from the Zambia Police Service is yet to be issued.
Right thing, now, let case go to courts of law.
This chap, Miles Sampa, and Emmanuel Mwamba are proving to be a nuisance in our society. Courts need to understand that the scourge won’t stop until these idyots are made to save time outside our communities. Miles is an old chap and he knew what he was doing when made that fb posting. Lock him up and throw the keys away.

The others are just Political Cases.
For a country of over 20 million, that is a small list of people. I’m sorry to inform you that we are no longer in the PF era, where lawlessness was the norm, this time around, we don’t tolerate lawlessness, so if you thrive on it, the list will grow bigger. Just know that anyone who breaks the law, they will be visited without hesitation. It would have made sense if you mentioned anyone on the list people you have written who is innocent, but alas all of them are either guilty and were convicted by competent courts of law or they are attending court cases for their crimes, so there is nothing strange there.
Is anyone on the list you have written above innocent? If not, what point are you trying to make? Are saying law breakers should be left scott free? I’m sorry to inform you that we are no longer in the PF era where lawlessness was tolerated, but we are now in an administration where law and order is now the thing. If one breaks the law, they will be visited, simple, so get used to it. The list will only grow bigger for those who want to break the law with impunity and expect people like you to support them.
They have done well arresting this careless law maker, this is what I was advocating for throughout my posts,this man would have caused a serious damage in chawama had it not been the professionalism of the police, how can a law maker alarm the nation like that,miles sampa behaves like a toddler so let them charge him without mercy
Pure nonsense from the dictator. Instead of paying farmers what they are owed, he is busy arresting opposition members, or harassing them. We have seen how desperate this little psychopath has become by the way he is hounding Makebi Zulu.
UPND members kept posting fake information during the Chawama bye elections, yet none of them has been arrested. This selective justice by the dictator will come to an end in August.
REJECT TRIBALISM, CORRUPTION AND OPPRESSION.
VOTE FOR CHANGE IN AUGUST.
Go and open a docket at the police for those UPND members, I can assure you the police will act on your instructions, but just remember to have facts.
