Mumbi hails Mutubila’s remarks over Kasama vote, while saying HH is relying on votes from his region
Former PF secretary general Mumbi Phiri has referred to veteran journalist Frank Mutubila as a “statesman” after he congratulated the people of Northern Province for showing the country how to vote in the manner the people of Kasama voted in the just ended Kasama mayoral by-election, which resulted in the UPND victory.
But Phiri said this was opposed to President Hichilema’s remarks to the people of Southern Province that votes from that area ‘should be kept for him.’
Phiri also charged that President Hichilema must not attribute his “lies” to the Africans, whom she said had the dignity not to lie.
Commenting on the remarks by veteran journalist Frank Mutubila who thanked the people of Northern Province for showing how the country must vote in the just ended Kasama mayoral by-election, Phiri referred to Mutubila as a statesman.
”He’s not like the President who is relying on the votes from his own

HH is winning with landslide margin go northwest and western no body talks about PF criminals.
Statesmanship made simple, just a mere comment can now win you one. The people of Northern Province were not showing anyone how to vote, they were voting for the right candidate. You are the same people who were saying a Tonga cannot rule this country, and he will never. Others were vowing that as long as they lived, HH shall never be the president of this country. You Madame Phiri know that HH had five previous attempts which he failed to make it to the presidency. Why was he failing if the people of Northern Province know how to vote better than the people of Southern Province? You also know that in 2021, initially UPND had no seats in Luapula and Muchinga. But the picture is different now, the majority Zambians have seen and realized that HH is not what they thought he was, they have seen that HH is a man with a big heart which accommodates every one regardless of tribe or region. HH has given back the lost dignity to our Chiefs, pupils, students, retirees, miners, the aged, Churches if you like, in short to every Zambian. You go round Zambia, pay a courtesy call to the Chief, you will be seated in the decent palace which HH has built. Then you go out to address a rally, you will be at a school where HH has built at least one or two classroom blocks. One of your party members is sick at a rally, he is rushed to a nearby health centre which HH has built. So how do people fail to vote for such a person? What can you tell them which is better than what they are seeing? PF was segregative, the ka 1.6 CDF was not known in some Constituencies especially in areas where PF had less or no support. But HH comes and gives 40 million to all the Constituencies in the country and you still can’t appreciate. Nangu kumupata umuntu, where he does well mufwile mwamutasha. PF had withdrawn the University student meal allowance, HH brought it back, he has brought free education. Cadrerism and harassments in markets and bus stations is now history. Kasanga Airport has now become the pride of Northern Province and very soon Mansa Airport will be the pride of Luapula. All this is because of HH. Suppose it were Lungu and PF who were doing all these things, do you think the people of Southern Province alone could still not vote for Lungu? I don’t think so. Politics needs a lot of objectivity when analyzing it. I don’t want to say Bembas but there are some people who were underrating other tribes but HH has risen to the occasion and has proved them wrong. Just like Mwanawasa, a none Bemba performed vey well. So voting is not tribal balancing but it’s a search for the best performer from whatever tribe he may come from as long as he is a Zambian. Stop accusing the people of Southern Province. One day, another person will come after HH I don’t know from which tribe, as long as he will be accepted by the majority Zambians, Tongas will overwhelmingly vote for him/her.
