MUNDUBILE AND MAKEBI BEING TAKEN TO SOLWEZI BY ROAD.

Leading presidential candidate Brian Mundubile and his running mate, Makebi Zulu, are being transported by road to Solwezi under police and prison escort ahead of their court appearance scheduled for Monday, October 5, 2026.

The two National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) leaders are expected to appear before Principal Resident Magistrate Mambwe Mukonde, as the highly watched sedition case enters another critical stage.

Mundubile and Makebi are being moved from custody to Solwezi, where they are expected to appear in court on Monday and Tuesday, October 5 and 6, for a formal plea and possible commencement of trial.

Their movement to Solwezi comes against the backdrop of a politically charged case arising from social media activity following the tense August 13 general election.

According to Emmanuel Mwamba, Mundubile is accused of publishing a Facebook post in which he claimed that the NRPUP was leading the presidential race based on Parallel Vote Tabulation (PVT) figures.

Mr. Mwamba stated that In the post, Mr. Mundubile called on the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to resume the counting of votes and proceed with the announcement of the election results.

“His running mate, Makebi Zulu, is facing allegations linked to a separate social media post in which he stated that Mundubile would shortly address the nation and urged members of the public to remain on standby” stated Mwamba.

The allegations have placed the two senior NRPUP figures at the centre of a case that has attracted considerable political and public attention.

Their previous appearance before Principal Resident Magistrate Mambwe Mukonde did not result in the matter proceeding to trial, with the court adjourning the case to October 5 and 6.

The latest development means Mundubile and Makebi will spend the journey under the custody of the authorities as they are taken by road to Solwezi ahead of what could be a decisive stage in the proceedings.

The court is expected to deal with the formal plea before determining whether the prosecution is ready to commence the trial.

The case has continued to draw attention because of its connection to events surrounding the disputed and tense electoral period, with the allegations arising from statements made on social media at a time when political tensions were high.

As the two NRPUP leaders make their way to Solwezi, attention is now turning to Monday’s court proceedings and whether the matter will finally move into the trial phase.

Nigga please, these chaps lost that election.
And went into hiding at UN Lusaka until they were fished out.

  2. They are still in dreamland! Elections were done and dusted jn August 2026. This is October 2026 and Zambia has moved on to Grow Zambia Economy. Locally there’s no one to spread your propaganda to! Move on. If you didn’t know some of your friends lost so bad and could not stomach their disappointment, when they woke up from their dreams and had to resign from politics. Ask Katele Kalumba about his stupid FB movie post?
