MUSHIMBA QUESTIONS PROPOSED CABINET EXPANSION
Organized People’s Party (OPP) president Eng. Dr. Brian Mushimba has questioned the proposed expansion of Cabinet, arguing that Zambia needs consolidation rather than increased government expenditure.
Dr. Mushimba said the government’s structure should focus on delivering results with fewer administrative layers instead of creating more ministries, offices and bureaucracy.
He said the approach was particularly important as the country began implementing the GROW ZAMBIA AGENDA, which seeks to grow the economy, manage public debt and create jobs.
“The central question that should have been answered is: How do we make government more effective and less expensive without compromising service delivery?” he stated.
