MY ELIGIBILITY CASE IS BECOMING MORE COMPLICATED – LUNGU

By Darius Choonya

Former Republican President Edgar Lungu says the case challenging his eligibility to contest the 2021 and future elections, is becoming more complicated.

The former President said during a conversation with Patriotic Front faction vice president, Given Lubinda shortly after the Constitutional Court ruled that the petition challenging his eligibility will be heard.

The Court has since dismissed Mr. Lungu’s plea to have the petition dismissed on a preliminary stage claiming that matters relating to his eligibility were already dealt with by the constitutional court.

  1. No it’s not complicated. Actually it’s very simple. You do not qualify to stand in 2026 as you have already been sworn in twice.

What is happening is just to keep you busy and engaged.

  2. Ba Lungu don’t waste your time, retire in peace. Nobody was born a president. Ifi fyapa chalo. Professor Lumumba of Kenya says and I quote ” a good dancer leaves the stage when people are still cheering “. You have done your part. It’s over, RB did 3 years and was a wise person and left in peace MHSRIP. You did 7 years what are you looking for? It will end up terribly . Retire in peace and you will be forgiven of your transgressions while in office.

  3. Ba Lungu, there is nothing complicated. You had an illegal third term attempt in 2021 because the Constitutional Court lacked the moral courage to do the right thing, especially after you threatened them. Records f your threats are there.

It took us, the voters, to finally consign you to the garbage heap and put a stop to your shenanigans.

If, peradventure, you are on the ballot in 2026, our verdict remains the same. I, for one, have not forgotten the extensive damage you did to our country.

  4. Look at how power hungry this guy is. He had his time to enjoy but now can’t just let go. Even if he doesn’t want HH he could have picked a candidate, propped him up and supported him or her financially and morally even by endorsement but no he wants to go himself that’s how greedy he is.
