NAWAKWI DESCRIBES K10m COMPENSATION TO UPND CADRES AS LOOTING OF STATE COFFERS

Opposition Forum for Democracy and Development FDD president Edith Nawakwi has described the UPND government as a looting machine as it continues awarding it’s CADRES huge sums of state funds in claims of compensation.
Last year some UPND officials who were jointly charged for treason together with President Hakainde Hichilema were awarded K6.4millon each through the courts, amounts the Attorney General described as small.
The latest is the K10.3million given to 17 UPND CADRES in form of compensation for malicious detention.
Ms Nawakwi says all these bad stories are a dent of Zambia’s image both local and abroad.
The opposition leader wondered why UPND CADRES were treated in a special manner with quick compensations while people like police officers who won the case for wrongful dismissal have not been paid.
“We warned him [President Hichilema] that the likes of his Levy Ngoma [Presidential political advisor] [State House communications specialist Clayson] Hamasaka, [Police IG Graphael] Musamba, [Minister of Home Affairs Jack] Mwimbu and the likes were giving Zambia a bad name he enjoys,” she said.
Ms Nawakwi continued: “The fabricated indictment has been exposed, all these bad stories on Zambia are with his [President Hichilema] blessings.The country has no money but they are looting. Soon World Bank and IMF [International Monetary Fund] will realise that UPND [government] is a looting machine. How do party cadres given K10.million compensation? When police have not been paid for their judgement for wrongful dismissal? Awe mwe Lesa twapapata twafweni (God help us).

The policemen wrongfully dismissed were mostly from Northern and Eastern provinces. The list of names was published here at the time, and I cried blatant tribalism in the purge. The courts ruled in their favour, wrongful dismissal. You can guess who they were replaced with.
The president has no interest in justice or fairness. He has his own mission, which is only compatible to those hail from where he does.

Indigo do you have statistical proof of your statement? If not dont make statements that you cant substaniciate. If this were true, then during PF, those that have been reported by PF were from those provinces. The state is righting a wrong where recuritment was skewed and prejudical in that incompentent individuals from those provinces were wrongly recurited. If you can show us incompentencies in those recurited from other provinces and have not been fired. They will be fired based on facts. Stop the innuendo and falsehoods. Mwamba was at the Police answering to that. Chisanga Hodi (name maybe mispelt) the same.
Those are blunders of PF, arresting people carelessly on trumped up charges has consequences such as these we are seeing. So instead of blaming innocent people, ba PF should own this problem and blame themselves. You arrest people and you fail to give any evidence, what do you expect?
Hasnt Kasanda sued? If Nawakwi was falsely arrested why has she not sued? HH sued her and won. Isnt the matter of the Kalomo farmers abduction still in court?? And she is the subject of it.
Police brutality has been an issue that was raised under PF, the issue of extra judical killing has come up in this regime. When those that have a case sue. Is it not possible that they may have a case against the state?
We expect the police to enforce the law. As an agency of the state they are subject to the law as much as we as citizens are. There is a delicate balance to ensure that the law is enforced but in enforcing the law. The rights of citizens are unheld. In so doing the Police is also subject to law. From Privacy to human rights and welfare. The Police are subject to when enforcing the law. So this regime promised to rule by “the rule of law”. They may not get it right all the time. And those that enforce the law will be subject to the law.
But this self declared cow nawakwi is on record of obtaining loans from DBZ and never paid back till the bank collapsed. Is that not tax payers money she looted? Chiwamila ngombe???
