KONKOMALIMBA KAPUMPE THINKS NEVERS MUMBA IS PREPARING TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT IN 2031
He writes:
Even if he doesn’t know it himself, Dr. Nevers Mumba will be a presidential candidate in 2031. This resignation is temporary, hence it’s been called a “step aside” . He has sensed a gap in opposition leadership, and his political instincts knowingly or unknowingly have pointed him in that direction. Whether the gap is real or not thats another discussion.
His first task is to “clean himself” with the opposition and without causing immediate “war” with the UPND. Which explains the neutral stance he has taken. He knows he can only become a strong opposition candidate if he does this first. He is trying to win back the trust of the opposition in this country.
The last election showed that even the lion can bleed, and the hyenas have sensed it. No disrespect intended , it’s just an analogy. He senses that there might be a good chance of UPND being beaten in 2031,knowing very well they have a new and unknown President candidate; and riding on 40% percentage vote from weak opposition in last election.
The neutral stance will not last long. Within a year, give or take, he will start hearing strong exchanges of word with the UPND leadership; before the political fight becomes fierce.
One of my friends said if he is sent abroad, he will use it to raise funds for 2031. To me, that press briefing was the launch of his presidential bid. It had clear hints of putting the UPND leadership on the back foot. You will see. Mark my words
And to be honest, he should have resigned months ago after realizing he would not be Veep. But he calculated that an abrupt decision would not have been appropriate.

Talking about a politician in the zeros and ones group. i think it is more to do with being appointed to something, but to where. boasting of being former vice president there is no other post remaining apart from president, but try and get zeros and ones countrywide. Ambassador is too low, below PS, hey but the money is good.
This is his democratic right.
But, this will end in tears. And gnashing of teeth. Read the mood of the people.
Well if he is no threat why are you taking about him. This in it self shows his relevance. And if someone can survive the type of abuse he endured over the party he led. I mean surviving over 15 high court cases triggered by a ruling party and their allies is no a small achievement. Take a look around and see how effective other former ruling parties are doing.
Sometimes I feel brushing aside someone just because you don’t like him or don’t want to recognize his achievements is being unreasonable.
He was former Vice President. No small achievement. To really break it down non of you guys crushing on this man’s achievement can much half of what he has done so far. You remain social arm chair critics who can’t get involved where this man is swimming.
So even when you criticize do it objectively and responsibly. Where giant steps you footprint may not be recognized. Lets learn to celebrate some of leaders instead of crushing them out of jealousy. I am tired of this reckless statements.
Introspectively count on bother hands including on your toes and give me what you have done that surpasses what this man has achieved.
I did not say he has no weakness. I am saying you can not ignore his achievements and tell us about half truths.
We need to mature as a country not to stub the very leaders we have. The come in short supply. Especially when critics just sit there doing noting but looking.
The noble thing to do if you know better other than talking is to get down to business and join in the game. If you can’t please keep quiet and let some of our big boys play the game.
