NEW CALL MADE FOR 226 SHADOW MPS AHEAD OF 2031
Organised People’s Party (OPP) president Eng. Dr. Brian Mushimba has called on Zambians to step forward and prepare to serve their communities ahead of the 2031 general elections.
Dr Mushimba said the country needed a new generation of leaders committed to integrity, competence, courage and patriotism, urging citizens to begin contributing to national development long before assuming public office.
“We said the works towards 2031 starts now,” Dr Mushimba said.
He called on willing Zambians across all 226 constituencies to become Shadow Members of Parliament (SMPs), saying they should familiarise themselves with local challenges and listen to residents.
“A Shadow MP is expected to know their constituency. To listen to its people,” he said.
Dr Mushimba said the initiative was intended to renew leadership across the country by bringing together professionals, farmers, entrepreneurs, teachers, health workers, community leaders, young people, women and retirees with the capacity to serve.
“This is about renewing leadership across the country,” he said.
He further encouraged citizens who believed Zambia could do better to take responsibility for shaping the nation’s future through research, organising, proposing solutions and holding leaders accountable
“Zambia needs you. Step forward. Offer yourself. Serve your constituency. Help renew our nation,” Dr Mushimba said.
