By Gladwell Simwawa

Nine people have di€d in Nakonde District Hospital between Wednesday and today, all from gunsh0t w0unds, as tensions escalate across the nearby Tanzanian border.

The first fatalities were three men struck by stray bull£ts in  “no-man’s-land” on the day of the election.

Nakonde District Commissioner (DC) Marvelous Sikapizye has confirmed and revealed during a live radio program on Chete FM News on Friday Morning that all nine victims are male and from Nakonde and Tunduma rushed to Nakonde District Hospital for treatment but did not survive.

The unrest in Tanzania, which has sparked the cross-border vi0lence, is reportedly linked to political disputes and accusations against President Samia’s administration.

The situation has disrupted daily life on both sides of the border.

In Tunduma, Tanzania, all shops have closed, and no vehicles are crossing into Zambia.

Only authorized personnel from security forces are moving along the streets.

Residents are being urged to stay indoors, and public gatherings are banned.

Stray bull£ts have also caused property damage, on Friday alone  one hit a house in Katozi village, and another struck a power transformer for ZESCO.

Fortunately, no inju>ries were reported from these incidents.

Authorities have continue to warn residents to remain at home as the tense situation persists, especially in the busy Nakonde–Tunduma border zone, where Tanzanians and Zambians often meet daily for trade and transit.

  1. This is very sad news.

The problem with African politicians is that this sort of uprising can never happen in their own countries. They think draconian cyber laws or imingalato are enough to suppress their citizens. When people have had enough, they rise up to flush out corrupt leaders. You can not subject citizens to endless load shedding, high cost of living, selective justice, corruption and expect them not to rise up against you. And the fate of these leaders is never good. Few even survive the uprising. Those that have ears should listen. Let them not be fooled by their praise singers because those praise singers will not be there to protect them when the shit hits the fan. DO NOT TAKE CITIZENS FOR GRANTED IMWE BA DICTATOR.

    REJECT TRIBALISM, CORRUPTION AND OPPRESSION.

    VOTE FOR CHANGE IN 2026.

  2. Zambian lives needlessly lost because of a Stupid Dictator in Tanzania.
These Stupid Dictators who have assumed Power in Africa…The Dregs of the Continent.. Regressing all we treasure.
Idiots who don’t understand what Political Power means..
The Stupid Mingalatoons thinking Citizens are Imbeciles.
Let them know that their days are numbered..
Every Dictator has his day of reckoning..and it will eventually come, and it is coming.
There is Cleansing happening in Africa.
    And the Dictators will fall..
Those who abuse the Rule of law
Daily Imprisoning and abducting opponents. Those who can’t allow Democracy to function.
Those who can’t allow the arms of Government to function..Those who disregard Constitutionalism.
    Daily Shrinking the Democratic Space.
Taking Africa to the Stone Age..and to Jungle law. Turning Countries into Banana Republics.
Wherever they Manifest, they will fall.
Let them fall. The Stupid Dictators.

Who the Cap Fits, let them Wear it.

  3. Let us not wish the horrible events happening in other countries to happen in our lovely and peaceful country. All the African countries which underwent social upheavals never fully recover economical and socially. The consequences are just too ghastly (loss of life and torn social fabric) even for those who wish such to happen here. For 61 years, Zambians, have been given a chance to vote and peacefully change government, no sooner to later, with no spillage of precious human blood of Citizens. No need to daily agitate and wish what is happening in other countries also happen here. It just requires a little brain to know the difference between peace and unrest.
