NO POLITICS DURING DAY OF PRAYER AND FASTING -ICOZ

LUSAKA- The Independent Churches of Zambia (ICOZ) President, Bishop David Masupa says the National Day of Prayer, fasting, repentance, and reconciliation is not a political day but a day when people should speak to their God with love peace, and unity.
Speaking today at Cathedral of the Holly Cross, during the Official Launch of this year’s National Day of Prayer, Fasting, and Repentance which will be commemorated under the theme: Building Zambia for Greater Development Through Prayer, Unity, and Hard Work, Dr. Masupa charged that the church remains focused to making Zambia a peace-loving and united country towards social and economic development.
ICOZ president has further called on all political party leaders to manage their members on this day in order to safeguard the country’s peace and unity.
“It is my humble appeal to all political parties to ensure peace is maintained on the forthcoming National Day of Prayer, Fasting, and reconciliation as we all know that peace is important for economic development,” said Masupa.
Speaking at the same event, national chairperson organizing committee Prophetess Esther Jani said this year’s theme is very important because it Highlights hard work, which is a necessary component for both personal and National development.
While quoting from Bible in Proverbs 14:23, which “All hard work brings a profit”. Ms.Jani said hard work does not know any religion, race, or any political affiliation.
She further encouraged Zambians to understand the hard times the country is going through.
and embrace the Spirit of love, prayer, and hard work to change their living standards.
“In this year’s National Day of Prayer, we are calling to the Nation to reflect on the following;
We need to humble ourselves before God and look to him for solutions and intervention in
our lives and the Nation.We need to recognize that hard work is necessary for us to succeed and develop the Nation.Being at peace with God through reconciliation and peace with our fellow man is very important for National Development,” She said.
