BREAKING: Omar Al-Bashir Transferred To Military Hospital In Khartoum
Sudan’s former President Omar al-Bashir has been transferred to a military-run hospital in the Khartoum area for medical tests and treatment, according to his lawyer, Mohamed Alhassan Alameen.
The 82-year-old former leader was previously being held under military protection in Merowe, northern Sudan, before being moved back to the Khartoum area for further medical care.
His lawyer told Reuters that Bashir is experiencing symptoms requiring further diagnosis and treatment, including medical care that may not be available in Sudan.
Bashir’s family has called for him to receive treatment abroad, saying the need has become urgent. However, the exact nature of his medical condition has not been publicly disclosed.
There are also conflicting reports regarding approval for him to travel outside Sudan for treatment. His family says it has not received official confirmation of such approval.
