OPPOSITION POLITICAL PARTIES ACCUSED OF FAILING TO UNITE THE COUNTRY

Development Advocate Joseph Kangwa, says it is no longer surprising, but deeply disappointing, that opposition political parties in Zambia have largely failed to unite the Country despite years of what he termed as empty rhetoric about unity.

Speaking to YAR FM news, Mr. Kangwa, said what the people are witnessing is not simply a lack of opportunity, but what appears to be a failure of leadership.

He said many opposition leaders seem to be driven by ego, personal ambition, and self-interest rather than the needs of the Zambian people.

Mr. Kangwa, stressed that the truth is difficult to ignore as many of these leaders appear unwilling to sacrifice their positions for the greater good.

He said as things stand, no single opposition political party appears to have the capacity to defeat the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND), adding that without strong, well-established structures across the country, victory becomes highly unlikely adding that most opposition parties are top heavy organizations with limited grassroots presence, they speak loudly in public, but on the ground, they are often barely visible.
