PESKOV ADMITS RUSSIA WILL CONTINUE THE WAR FOR EVEN 0.01% OF DONETSK

Russia will continue its so-called “Special Military Operation” even if only one-hundredth of one percent of the Donetsk region remains under Ukrainian control, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has declared.

“Even half a percent, even one-hundredth of a percent. This is the Russian Federation. There is nothing to discuss,” Peskov told Russian propagandist Pavel Zarubin.

But there is something to discuss: Donetsk is not the Russian Federation. It is internationally recognized Ukrainian territory that Moscow is attempting to seize through invasion, forced annexation and the destruction of entire cities.

Peskov claimed that Russia would prefer to obtain its objectives through diplomacy, but said that while this remains impossible, Moscow will continue fighting “with full force.” He then threatened that anyone planning to inflict a crushing defeat on Russia would “pay the same price Ukraine is paying now.”

The contradiction could not be clearer. Moscow speaks about negotiations while openly declaring that it will continue the war until every final fragment of the territory it illegally claims has been surrendered. That is not diplomacy. It is an ultimatum presented beneath the language of peace.

Peskov’s statement should be remembered whenever Western governments suggest that another concession might finally satisfy the Kremlin. Russia is openly saying that even 99.99% would not be enough.

And perhaps the next time Ukrainian drones visit Moscow, Peskov can repeat his threats somewhere other than the safety of a bunker.
