PF APPOINTS INONGE WINA AS MEMBER OF COUNCIL OF ELDERS
Statement: The Central Committee of the Patriotic Front yesterday convened to deliberate on a number of pertinent issues affecting the Party and the nation.
The meeting was chaired by Acting Party President, Hon Given Lubinda.
The Central Committee made several resolutions which include but not limited to the following:
- APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS OF CENTRAL COMMITTEE
The Central Committee ratified the appointment of the following individuals as Members of the Central Committee of the Patriotic Front;
a) Hon. Chishimba Kambwili
b) Hon. Bowman Lusambo
c) Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba
d) Hon. Mutotwe Kafwaya
e) Hon. Japhen Mwakalombe
f) Dr. Canisius Banda
g) Ms. Charity Kapona
g) Ms. Tapiwa Muhango
Further, Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba has been appointed as Deputy National Chairperson for Information to deputise Hon. Raphael Nakachinda.
Meanwhile, Dr. Canisius Banda has been appointed National Chairperson in-charge of Health.
- APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL OF ELDERS
The Central Committee ratified the appointments of the following individuals as Members of the Council of Elders of the Patriotic Front;
a) Mrs. Inonge Wina
b) Hon. Ng’onga Mukupa
c) Dr. Dennis Wanchinga
d) Amb. Paul Lumbi
e) Amb. Fidelis Kapoka;
Additionally, Acting President Lubinda has appointed Mr Robstar Mwanza to take over the role of PF Deputy Chairperson for Lusaka Province.
- EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL CONFERENCE
The Party is expected to hold its Extraordinary General Conference to elect a new Party President.
The Committee tasked with the preparedness of holding the Extraordinary General Conference rendered a Report to the Central Committee.
The Central Committee has taksed the Committee to finalise specific preparations related to logistics, venue of the Conference, Electoral College, Rules of the Conference, transport and all other matters incidental to the holding of the Conference and revert to the Central Committee at its next sitting in 30 days time.
The Central Committee hereby encourage all members of the Patriotic Front to continue exercising patience and loyalty to the Party as the party is determined to hold the Extraordinary General Conference as soon as it is practically possible.
