PF CONSIDERS USING SPECIAL PURPOSE VEHICLE TO HOLD CONVENTION AMID COURT JUDGMENT UNCERTAINTY

By Chamuka Shalubala

Patriotic Front-PF- Faction Deputy Secretary General Celestine Mukandila says the party may resort to using a Special Purpose Vehicle –SPV- to convene its long-awaited convention scheduled for later this month.

Mr. Mukandila says the convention will go ahead as planned regardless of whether the pending court judgment slated for 25th February, 2026 is ruled in favour of or against his faction, stressing that there is no room for further postponement.

He has told Phoenix News in an interview that should the court ruling go against his faction, the party would activate the SPV arrangement to ensure the convention takes place.

Mr. Mukandila has further noted that the outcome of the court process remains difficult to predict due to a number of factors surrounding the case.

The Lusaka High Court has set February 25, 2026, as the date to deliver a crucial judgement in the ongoing leadership dispute within the patriotic front.

  1. Which special vehicle ?

There is only one contempt of court.

And only one prison where those who are guilty of contempt of court go to.

Problem with PF, you idiots think you are above the law. Those days are gone. Days of being shielded and treated preferencially are gone. Days of hijacking the office of the president are gone. There is a new sheriff in town. Get in line.

  2. Mukandila that is the problem with you. Always rushing to make statements without thinking.
As one of the advisors in the PF learn to ponder on issues.
You set a date for a convention and even after the injuction was obtained some among you kept thinking you could circumvent the law.
Even the mear utterances and misrepresentation of acting as PF SG is in defiance of the injunction. Why shouldnt Chabinga have you cited for contempt?
It was a cease and desist order. This special purpose vehicle should have been something you should have put in motion when Lungu died and planned for this election.
Instead what did you do? Thought you were intelligent? Well…like your Mopani case….here you are.
Zealotism is not for the learned Mukandila. You and your friend Ngwira need to behave like you went to school stop acting like abena America and Maxwell Chongu. Bu savage belongs in the stone age. Our society and the way we cinduct ourselves needs to reflect the age we exist in.
    Form a new party.
Am inclinded to disagree with Masebo on allowing failed polticians into any other party.
Politics is about ideas. The reason we have different parties is because we have different ideas.
When the boat is sinking….how then do those that were in the boat suddenly have a change of ideas? It simply means they are not prinicipled to their values and ideals…not to mention ideas.
