PF LEADERSHIP WRANGLES CONTINUE TO ‘THICKEN’ AS MILES SAMPA DECLARES HIMSELF PRESIDENT

THE seemingly ‘organized’ confusion in the Patriotic Front(PF) has continued to deepen, this time with Miles Sampa declaring that he is the legitimate president of the former governing party.

Mr Sampa’s declaration follows a recent High Court judgement rendered by judge Conceptor Zulu, relating the extraordinary convection which elected him PF president on October 24, 2024.

In that verdict rendered on March 27, Judge Zulu dismissed a lawsuit which was challenging the legality of the extraordinary convention which ushered Mr Sampa in office as PF president.

The court found that Mporokoso lawmaker Brian Mundubile and others failed to prove with evidence that the extraordinary convention was illegally held.

Barely a day after the verdict, leader of the opposition Robert Chabinga said the courts decision confirms him as acting PF president and he is in charge of the former governing party.

But in a dramatic turn of events, Mr Sampa told a press briefing at his house that Judge Zulu’s judgement entails that he is the rightful PF president.

“….we extend gratitude to Judge Zulu for upholding justice. For avoidance of doubt, the ruling on March 27, effectively stated that I ,Miles Bwalya Sampa is the legal president of Patriotic Front for five years until October 2028,” the PF Matero lawmaker said.

He said contrary to naysayers, the PF is still alive and members should remain united as the party seems to collaborate with other well meaning political parties ahead of the general elections.

“The PF has never died, the PF is not dead and the PF will never die,” Mr Sampa said.

Meanhwile, lawyer Makebi Zulu was recently elected at a purpoted PF at some convention, which some stakeholders, including UPND, have deemed illegal.

As it stands, Mr Chabinga is the one who has what he terms “lugwalo”, to mean legal documentation as party leader.

There’s currently an active court case linked to the PF leadership wrangles.
