POLAND SAYS IT CAN BEAT RUSSIA WITHOUT NATO AND MOSCOW IS LAUGHING
Poland’s Foreign Minister says Poland could defeat Russia relatively quickly if Moscow attacked and Warsaw fought without holding back.
Radosław Sikorski made the claim to a smiling audience. He said Poland has overwhelming superiority over Russia in airpower.
Poland has roughly 100 fighter jets. Russia has over 1,000.
Poland has no nuclear weapons. Russia has the largest nuclear arsenal in the world.
Sikorski knows this.
This is not a military assessment. It is a political performance. He is signalling resolve to his domestic audience. He is reminding NATO allies that Poland is serious. He is feeding a narrative that Russia can be beaten on the ground.
Zelensky believed that too. He thought Western weapons and Ukrainian willpower would push Russia out. Four years later, Ukraine has lost territory, lives and its economy.
Poland is not Ukraine. But the logic is the same. Overconfidence before a war is dangerous. Overconfidence during a war is fatal.
Moscow is not impressed. Putin is sipping his wine and watching.
What happens when leaders confuse rhetoric with reality and the war they planned for is not the war they get.
