Poland Temporarily Evacuates Two Border Crossings After Russian Strikes in Ukraine
Poland temporarily evacuated two border crossings with Ukraine on Thursday after a new wave of Russian strikes targeted western Ukraine, near the Polish border.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk confirmed the measure during a press conference in Warsaw alongside Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev.
The Dorohusk and Zosin border crossings were evacuated several times during the attacks as a precautionary security measure. Polish authorities said security procedures had already been strengthened at several border crossing points following previous Russian attacks in western Ukraine.
Tusk warned that the temporary evacuations were causing significant disruptions, including economic consequences, and called on Poland and its European partners to prepare for continued security challenges in the coming weeks and months.
Polish authorities also activated additional security measures in areas near the Ukrainian border. Traffic at both affected crossings was later restored.
