POLICE STOP LUNGU FROM TAKING A WALK

POLICE STOP LUNGU FROM TAKING A WALK

You can’t take a walk, Police tell ECL

As early as 05;30hrs, the Supreme Court Grounds was blockaded and sealed off. I estimated about a thousand officers that stationed themselves around the court premises and aurrounding areas from Chikwa Road to Kent House and atound.

The Police would not allow any of our senior leaders and members to enter the premises.

Even leaders such as Vice President Hon. Given Lubinda and Hon. Prof Nkandu Luo were turned away.

The court room, which is an open court was literally empty except for a few of us and the lawyers.

When the matter adjourned at 11;00hrs for a brief period of an hour, President Edgar Lungu decided to take a walk to Inter-continental Hotel for a cup of tea, which is about 20-meters away.

The Police would hear none of it. They said their instructions were that he “was not allowed to walk about, even in the court premises”. Offcourse this was outrageous.

First they turned us away that we couldnt use the gate nearest the hotel “as it was not an exit!” And when we went to the exit gate, they said they had instructions that President Lungu could not be allowed to leave the premises let alone walk…this was truly offensive.

  1. Hakainde has completely gone mad.

The last few months he had shown a bit of maturity when dealing with opposition….but this nonsense is just taking the biscuit.

If ECL does win in 2026, I shudder to think what will become of this ignorant policeman. The one giving him instructions will simply abscond to Panama.

    Vote wisely in 2026.

  2. I am not incorrigible, meaning , l can be advised, but that can only happen after seven years. So you see , l am capable of listening to advice only after seven years

  3. I am not incorrigible, meaning , l can be advised, but that can only happen after seven years. So you see , l am capable of listening to advice only after seven years, so you see, l am s strange human being

  4. A very polite police officer, professional. Unlike the cadres that wore police uniform under Lungu’s reign. Lungu and Mwamba’s scheme to create a spectacle completely failed.

  5. I am not incorrigible, meaning l can be corrected after seven years which is “normal”, besides the other three years was not mine and l had no vision. So you see, l am very normal.

  6. Your headline for this story is disingenuous and seeks to mislead the reader.
We all know that this is a stunt by Lungu and his rabble gang to antagonise and provoke the police with the aim of garnering cheap headlines and you as a newspaper fell it. Disgraceful.

  7. ECL is problematic. You can’t have people like Emmanuel to provide quality advise. You guys are provocative

  8. We all subject to what entrance and exit we can use at the Court Premises.
Ordinary citizen Lungu is not above those regulations what is so special about him. Let him use and be subject to the same rules as everyone else.
The writer just exhibits the pettiness and so Lungu was put in his place with his bunch of entilted misfits.
Reapect is earned….behave appropriately and you be granted the respect you deserve
