PUTIN SHIFTS GRAIN HUB FROM TURKEY TO EGYPT – “Ankara No Longer Reliable”
Russia is moving its planned grain hub away from Turkey – choosing Egypt instead.
What happened:
President Putin told Egypt’s Foreign Minister: “We can talk about creating a grain and energy hub in Egypt.”
The project was originally intended for Turkey – but Moscow now sees Ankara as unreliable.
Egypt is already a major buyer of Russian wheat. A hub would deepen food security cooperation within the Global South – bypassing Western-controlled logistics.
Why it matters:
No more Turkish middlemen – direct Russia‑Egypt corridor.
Stable food supplies for one of the world’s largest wheat importers.
