QUICKLY FIND A SOLUTION TO FLOODING – EX-LUSAKA MAYOR MILES SAMPA ASKS MR MWEWA
By Staff Reporter
Former Lusaka Mayor Miles Sampa has urged newly elected Lusaka Mayor Simon Mwewa to find a lasting solution to the flooding that affects Lusaka every year.
Congratulating Mr Mwewa on his successful relocation of street vendors into designated markets, Mr Sampa noted that flooding has remained a major challenge for the city of Lusaka for many years.
He has therefore called on the new mayor to make addressing the city’s flooding problem one of his priorities.
Miles Sampa writes:
Heartfelt Congratulations to the Mayor of the Greater City of Lusaka Your Worship Chitambala Mwewa.
Mind that chain around your neck however. It can be very ‘light’ one moment but very ‘heavy’ overnight most of the times. Once I needed a medical neck massage due to pressures of the office🤔😊
Well done thus far for moving street vendors and cleaning up the CBD 👏🏼👏🏼
Now Watch out and start preparations to mitigate upcoming floods in the City. Its the ‘traditional ceremony’ that the City encounters nearly annually.
Beyond this rain season; may you be the catalyst in finding a lasting solution to the City’s decades of flooding problems. Nearly every year, these floods also breed Cholera into a pandemic. Alot of lives end up being lost.
As first step to mitigating floods and before the first rain drops, start by getting city drainages unblocked now in CBD and residential areas especially Kanyama, Matero (Lima), Mandevu, Bauleni and Kaunda Square.
Preventing Cholera is easier than curing it. Now is the time to start Cholera mitigation awareness campaigns. This should be easy for you given you helped me do so as one of my ‘Ubusaka’ ambassadors when I occupied the office.
Otherwise LSK is very safe in your able hands as Mayor and more so that you have HH as the republican President. He is clearly very supportive and passionate in helping your office perform to the full expectations of the residents. Its not by luck that you dont have likes of Queen Nsuko & her ‘Komanda’ cadres hijacking your office functions. Its all because the real Commander Bally is at Work.
Welcome to the club whose alumni also includes the lates; your Father Simon Mwewa, Rupiah Banda, Michael Sata, John Chilambwe etc etc and the living; the UNIP President Col Henry Muyoba, SC Patrick Kangwa, Patricia Nawa, Fisho Mwale, Mike Mposha etc etc
Best wishes & Yours truely,
