REBRANDED PATRIOTIC FRONT (PF) HOLDS CENTRAL COMMITTEE MEETING IN LUSAKA.

Saturday 12th,October 2024

The Rebranded Patriotic Front held its 3rd central committee meeting on 12th October 2024 from 10am to 4pm to discuss pertinent issues concerning the party.

1. PF President Miles Bwalya Sampa chaired the central committee meeting and in attendance amongst others was his Vice President Hon John Kufuna, Deputy Secretary General Hazel Saliya Kapeta, MCC Petronella Nkumbula Chairperson of Northern Province, and MCC Mr Emmanuel Meleki Chairperson of North Western Province.

2. The committee expressed concern on elected officials (Councillors and MPs) that seem not to be aware that their role in society is not to praise but to give checks and balances to the UPND party and its Executive arm of government. Vice President Kufuna was tasked to follow up and alert the elected officials that they were putting themselves in harms way with the party and general public.

3 . The President appointed into the Central Committee positions as follows; 

3.1  Mr Dennis Kanyakula who was recently Chairman for Commerce Industry,replaces the late Hon Lazarous Chota (MHSRIP) as Vice
National Chairman of the Party.

3.2  Mr Luka Monta as MCC Chairman for Media.

3.3  Mr Albert Chishiba as MCC in charge of Information.

3.4  Mr Justin Sampa of Kalomo District as MCC and new interim
Chairperson of Southern Province.

3.5  Madam Gift Mwamba as MCC National Women Chairperson.

3.6  Madam Rosemary Chenda as MCC.

3.7  Mr Mazuba Kachali as National Youth Chairperson.

3.8 Mr Louis Semani of Kafue as MCC interim Provincial Chairperson of Lusaka Province.

3.9  Mr Patrick Kangwa as MCC and Chairman incharge of Security.

3.10  Mr Brian Kasonde as MCC.

4.0  The Central committee assured the general membership of the party to ignore all manner of propaganda towards the  party and especially on the President as the party is definitely fielding a candidate in 2026 general elections. 

4.1  The President informed the meeting that only about 3 court cases on leadership were still active in Court while over 7 court cases especially against the Presidency were thrown out and essentially victory in his favour. The President urged all PF members countrywide to continue mobilising the party at branch, ward, constituency, district, province and national levels in order to identify fresh blood and new members to supplement existing ones.

5.0. The Central Committee discussed and agreed to start elective sub conferences in Wards across the entire Country.

6. The rebranded PF will be clocking one year in office on 24th October, 2024. Celebratory  activities will be organised in all Provinces.

The President congratulated  new members of the Central Committee and urged them to stand up and be counted in sacrifice for the sustainability of the PF in opposition.

There being no other business, the meeting adjourned at 17:05hrs.
