KAUNDA WAS RIGHT
The continued remarks by President Hakainde SAMMY Hichilema alleging that Zambians “hate him,” and that the Church, civic bodies, and citizens who oppose Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 7 are driven by “venom” and “hatred,” are deeply troubling and unbefitting of a Head of State. Such inflammatory language is not only unnecessary—it is dangerous to our unity as a nation.
It is alarming that President Hichilema has chosen to characterise every form of criticism, disagreement, or civic objection as “hatred for where he was born.” This repeated narrative of victimhood is creating regional undertones and sowing divisions that Zambia cannot afford. Leaders do not fan flames of hostility; they extinguish them.
Zambia’s founding father, the late Dr. Kenneth David Kaunda, warned that Mr Hichilema would “divide the country”. Today, those words ring louder than ever.
President Hichilema’s claim that protesters will be met by “counter groups”—widely interpreted as UPND party cadres—undermines the very democratic principles he pledged to uphold. Demonstrations are a constitutional right in the Republic of Zambia. Citizens do not need permission from the ruling party to exercise freedoms that are guaranteed by the Constitution. Threats of counter-action not only intimidate the public but also contradict the President’s declared willingness to “dialogue” with organisations such as the Oasis Forum. One cannot speak of dialogue while simultaneously encouraging a confrontational atmosphere on the streets.
This contradiction is alarming. On one hand, President Hichilema asserts openness to consultation; on the other, he implicitly encourages groups aligned to his party to “overpower” citizens who lawfully choose to protest. Such statements erode public trust and put national security at risk.
As President of the Republic, Mr. Hichilema must rise above partisan emotions and personal sensitivities. He is answerable to the people of Zambia. Criticism is not hatred; it is a normal and necessary ingredient of democratic governance. Every leader, regardless of background or origin, must learn to embrace scrutiny, accommodate differing views, and resist the temptation to label dissent as hostility.
We urge President Hichilema to abandon the rhetoric of persecution and victimhood, and to focus instead on building national cohesion. Zambia has enjoyed decades of peace precisely because leaders—regardless of political differences—placed unity above personal sentiment.

Mwansa , I hope you are aware of what Father Augustine Mwewa said. To quote, this father said ‘ You cant stop our Nov 28 protests, Mwachepa sana… We are ready to die’ Why didnt you see this statement as promoting street fights?? Suddenly when HH responds by saying ‘ You want to go to the street, what if you find other people much stronger than you??’ you scream that HH is supporting street fighting. Your biased comments are so transparent even for street kids to see!!. HH demonstrated with evidence that the Zambian constitution was amended during election years by previous regimes which didnot lead to street protests by Oasis forum and its current allies. So stop spinning issues to suit your bigotry!!
Did Kaunda call for the amendment of constitution in 1990. No he did not the people wanted and forced him to repeal Article 4 to allow for multipatism. It was not KK’s wish to amend the constitution. But the people’s. Compare that with Bill 7. He is calling for it? Why
Your response just destroyed the claim that timing is wrong on Bill 7; you have just mentioned that time is not a factor.
Today’s opposition yaba…………..kuwayawayafye.
clearly some people need to go back to school so that they can understand the meaning of certain words. President HH never said Zambians hate him, but he said some Zambians who feel that they are entitled to always lead hate him, and it’s clear to see from their comments. They will find anything to condemn him, but are quick to justify the same or even worse actions if done by their own.
This man, and his people, are always playing the victim. They will blame everyone accusing them of tribalism. The man is forgetting that it was not only his tribesmen that put him in office. If this is how he thinks, then it explains why he is a pure tribalist. Him threatening Oasis Forum protesters that he will unleash his thug cadres on them will not work. At least now we know who is sending these thug cadres. If he does indeed follow through with sending his cadres to harm us as we protest, we will call upon ba Chingola to do the needful. Ba Chingola do not play games, and Hakainde knows that from painful experience.
The bottom line is that Hakainde has reached the end of the runway. He is going whether he likes it or not. He is not fit to be president of our country.
REJECT TRIBALISM, CORRUPTION AND OPPRESSION.

Here is the proof of what the president was talking about. We don’t need to go any further.
Indigo is a pure Tribalist, hateful and spiteful. There is nothing that he can do about it because he was born like that and there is nothing that anyone, you and me can do about it. Let us just leave him alone to continue suffering from his incurable disease of tribalism and hatred which may eventually kill him, physically and emotionally.
Antonio is actually one of the haters of HH. He thinks we have such short memories that we have forgotten his foolish tantrums against HH when he was in PF, eating from stolen public money. As for Indigo, his nostalgia about tantameni is slowly but surely driving him to insanity. After August 2026 there shall be no Indigo and his tribalism chants.
EMC, you are talking as if your ka god will live forever. Whether he rigs 2026 and does a Tanzania, eventually he will expire and return to dust. We have seen even worse evil than this dictator as presidents, where are they now? Who will suffer once we bury him after he expires? Whose name is he tarnishing now? You need to look at the bigger picture. No one hates Hakainde, we just hate his oppressive and tribalist ways. We hate his lies and incompetence. We never would have voted for him if we knew what he was really like. We should have listed to KK.
