Russia Conducts Nuclear Forces Drill in Siberia, Deploys Yars ICBM Units
Russia’s Ministry of Defense has announced that its Strategic Missile Forces have carried out a military exercise in Siberia, involving the deployment and concealment of RS-24 Yars intercontinental ballistic missile systems capable of carrying nuclear warheads.
The drills reportedly included field maneuvers such as mobile launcher movements, camouflage operations, and simulated responses to potential enemy attacks.
Units also conducted training focused on countering aerial threats, reflecting a broader readiness posture.
Russia regularly conducts such exercises to test the operational readiness of its strategic nuclear forces.
However, the timing comes amid heightened tensions with NATO countries linked to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, potentially reinforcing strategic signaling toward Western powers.
