Russia Launches Fresh Ballistic Missile Strike on Kyiv After Deadly Barrage
Russia launched a fresh wave of ballistic missile strikes against Kyiv early Tuesday, September 29, just hours after a major Russian attack across Ukraine killed at least two people and injured 26 in the capital.
Explosions were reported across Kyiv shortly after 1:20 a.m. local time as Ukrainian air defenses responded to incoming missiles launched from Russia’s Kursk region.
Missile debris struck a residential courtyard and administrative buildings in the Solomianskyi district, while fires were reported in the Pecherskyi district and other areas.
Ukraine’s Air Force said its air defenses neutralized 109 Russian aerial targets during the overnight assault, including 106 drones and three missiles.
Emergency crews remain deployed across Kyiv as authorities assess the damage and respond to fires and casualties.
