RUSSIA REPORTEDLY TARGETS UKRAINIAN AIRPORTS AS ZELENSKYY WARNS OF NEW STRATEGY
Russia has reportedly intensified strikes against airports and aviation infrastructure across Ukraine, prompting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to warn that Moscow may be deliberately targeting facilities that could be used for high-level diplomatic travel.
Zelenskyy suggested that the strikes could be connected to discussions over the possibility of U.S. officials traveling to Ukraine by aircraft and landing at Kyiv or Boryspil airports.
️ “It is obvious that these Russian strikes against the airports are a reaction to the discussions and preparations regarding the possibility of the American side using an aircraft to travel to Ukraine and land at Kyiv or Boryspil airport. Russian-Iranian Shaheds in response to American diplomacy,” Zelenskyy said.
According to Kyiv, the attacks could complicate access to the Ukrainian capital and disrupt potential diplomatic missions involving representatives of U.S. President Donald Trump.
The reported escalation comes as Washington continues diplomatic efforts surrounding the war, while Russia maintains pressure on Ukrainian infrastructure with missiles and drones.
