Russian Su-30SM Fighter Jet Crashes Near Cemetery in Kaliningrad
A Russian Su-30SM fighter jet crashed during a scheduled training flight in the Kaliningrad region on October 21, near the town of Chernyakhovsk.
The aircraft went down between the settlements of Timofeyevka and Zelyony Bor, close to a local cemetery. Footage circulating online appears to show the moment the fighter jet crashed and erupted into flames.
Both pilots ejected before impact and were rescued. Russian authorities said their lives were not in danger, while local media reported that both sustained injuries and were taken to a military hospital.
The aircraft was reportedly flying without ammunition. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and no official explanation has been announced.
