SADC Group Of Ambassadors In Brazil Describes Zambia’s Late First President As A True Liberation Icon & Selfless Leader

SADC GROUP OF AMBASSADORS IN BRAZIL DESCRIBES ZAMBIA’S LATE FIRST PRESIDENT AS A TRUE LIBERATION ICON & SELFLESS LEADER

BRASILIA – June 18th, 2021 – – – – The SADC group of Ambassadors in Brazil have described Zambia’s late First President Dr. Kenneth Kaunda as a true liberation icon and selfless Leader who greatly sacrificed for the Peace and Security the region was enjoying today.

Ambassadors from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Mozambique, Tanzania and Botswana have learned with sadness the death of Dr. Kaunda and stated that KK’s immense contribution to freedom and stability in Africa will live to be remembered and cherished.

The Ambassadors made the remarks during their Monthly virtual meeting in Brasilia which was chaired by group Chairperson Gamiliel Mungwambe of Mozambique.

Zambia’s Ambassador to Brazil Dr Alfreda Kansembe-Mwamba has described the late Dr. Kaunda as a great leader who worked tirelessly to free Africa from Colonial rule.

Ambassador kansembe- Mwamba said Dr. Kaunda’s labour and sacrifice for Zambia and the entire SADC region remains a legacy in World History.

Ambassador Kansembe-Mwamba added that Dr. Kaunda ran a good race for Zambia and Africa.

Meanwhile, Brazil’s SADC group of Ambassadors Chairperson Gamiliel Munguambe reiterated that the death of Dr. Kaunda was a great loss to Africa.

He said Dr. Kaunda was a gallant Leader who played a pivotal role in liberating the SADC region and coordinated all efforts of states to value its Freedom.

The SADC Ambassadors in Brasilia are expected to visit the Zambian chancery to sign a book of condolences in honor of the late Dr. Kaunda who died at the age of 97.
