SOCIALIST PARTY LEADER DECRIES THEFT AND NEGLECT IN ZAMBIA’S HEALTH SECTOR

Socialist Party (SP) President Dr. Fred M’membe has expressed deep concern over the rampant theft and neglect that plague Zambia’s health sector.
In a recent media interaction, Dr. M’membe condemned the systemic misappropriation of resources meant for healthcare, highlighting the dire consequences for the nation’s most vulnerable populations.
“Resources committed or devoted to health services are stolen. Equipment provided for healthcare is stolen,” Dr. M’membe stated.
He emphasized that such actions show a blatant disregard for the dignity and lives of the Zambian people.
Dr. M’membe underscored the significance of healthcare, not merely as a service but as a fundamental right.
He further stressed the importance of social responsibility in healthcare, stating that caring for human life and dignity is a duty that extends beyond mere professional obligation.
“Caring for the ill is a special calling, not just a job to make a living,” he said.
Dr. M’membe also called for honesty and transparency in addressing the shortcomings of the current health system.
“Part of providing a good health service for people is admitting the weaknesses and deficiencies in the healthcare system. We have many challenges today in our healthcare system, and that needs to be admitted,” he said.
He shares the view that there is urgent need to reform Zambia’s healthcare sector to ensure that all citizens have access to the care and dignity they deserve.

Mr. Mmembe how do you make such a statement. The state of health facilities is in much better state than under PF. Where you failed to pay taxes that fund the same health facilities. Do you think only a hypocrite would speak the manner you speak. Is that what socialism amd your umderstnding of democracy? Take advantage of the poor while you live in splendor? This way Maduro, Putin, the Cubans, Jung Un live. That is your discription of a classless society? People with desecenting views are killed? Stop being self rightous bwana. That pompous attitude needs some introspection. You can not serve people woth a decedent heart like that.
