SOUTH AFRICA’S PRESIDENT IS ILL AFTER THE BRICS SUMMIT AND HIS DEPUTY IS ALSO RECOVERING
Cyril Ramaphosa, 73, has been booked off from public engagements after returning from the BRICS summit in New Delhi. His office confirmed doctors advised him to rest and recover.
His Deputy President Paul Mashatile is also recovering from a separate minor medical procedure leaving both of South Africa’s top leaders temporarily away from public duties.
India’s government has officially labelled reports of multiple world leaders falling ill as fake and cautioned against what it called malicious social media posts.
The only confirmed illness is Ramaphosa’s. Claims about other leaders remain unverified.
Ministers will represent Ramaphosa at scheduled engagements until he recovers.
Get well soon Mr President.
