Take me in and bring back my son, cries JJ’s mother
PETAUKE Central Member of Parliament Emmanuel Jay Jay Banda’s mother, Grace, says she is ready to be arrested on behalf of her son provided that the Government brings him back alive.
Her sentiments had people wondering as today marks a month since Banda escaped from Chipata Central Hospital where he was taken ill on August 1.
The fugitive was facing a charge of aggravated robbery and had been remanded at Namuseche Correctional Facility in Chipata Province.
Addressing the media this morning, Banda’s mother pleaded that her son be returned alive and let Government take her in instead.
She said, prior to Jay Jay’s disappearance, he was in the hands of Government which makes it allegedly responsible for his disappearance and reappearance.
“I have come here in the cold to express my concern over what has happened with my son who was detained and in the hospital. I’m deeply saddened by what happened to my son. Today marks one month since he disappeared, I’m asking Government to tell me where he is and what is happening. Ever since he disappeared, I have never heard from him. Up to now, no one has ever told me anything about his whereabouts,” explained Grace in Nyanja.
“My child was in your hands, I’m failing to sleep because of my son’s whereabouts. I don’t know who took him. Please bring back my son just like you took him to the cells. He was sick and now he’s lost. Please bring back my son and take me in instead since I’m the one who bore him.”
The aggrieved mother stated that ever since Jay Jay disappeared, all her children have been allegedly harassed by Government.
“All my children are being harassed, all his friends have been taken to the police because of my child. Anyone who talks about this issue is taken into custody, take me in instead of taking my son. Stop harassing my children, my child was in your hands, bring him back,” said Jay Jay’s mother.

Can someone please tell the mother that JJ is fugitive from justice, he jumped from a window at a hospital. It is right to parade her for political mileage.
Unnecessary Drama. Why not ask the daughter in law who saw the whole episode.
It is disheartening to see politicians now trying to use a fugitive’s mother for political milage, these are not politics, but it shows how low some people can get to desperately propel themselves using vulnerable individuals whom they can then dump after they have achieved their end. To the relatives of JJ, my advice is to avoid these vultures because they will only put you in a vulnerable position where you may end up saying the wrong things and be at crossroads with the law while they fly away like vultures do.
JJ on his own decided to run away from justice and you know it because you can easily get information from his wife. now they are forcing you to accuse government of another abduction without telling you the consequences of what you are implying. Whoever facilitated this interview should be ashamed of himself and it only shows the caliber of that person’s shallowness.
You have many ways of challenging government but desist from using a vulnerable woman and use other channels.
This woman together with whoever organised this nonsense deserve a real physical beating! The organised the escape and now wasting time for law enforcement agencies. Mazyu kacembele just like useless son. This is the fool that brought up the thug. Beat her up where she is seated. Idyots.
Very clearly schemed move by the desperate politicians. This the planned sketch, to have the mother appear after number of days after helping him to escape. The idea is to smear the government and UPND in the on going UN report allegations. A well rehearsed sketch and unless the government opens their eyes widely it will squarely look as planned.
Madam where’s your husband the father to your criminal child. You really seek public sympathy on your child’s criminal activities, like Tasila Lungu did and cried claiming of being victimised on their criminal cases

Explain why the child is a misfit. You even have the nerve to come out in the open and make such utterances?
You raise a misfit that has marriage several women that wonder where their father is? Hiding after escaping from hospital and claiming he was sick.
I can see the happiness for UPND cadres with your posting. What you have to know is whatsoever Jay Jay is to you does not change the unconditional love that his mother has for him.
Just the same to you , mother will always love you whether mad, handicapped, criminal because she carried you 9 months .
SHE IS A MISFIT HERSELF OTHERWISE INSTEAD OF BEING ASHAMED OF A CHILD WHO HAS BROUGHT RIDICULE TO THE FAMILY SHE WANTS TO BLAME GOVERNMENT. SHE DESERVES TO BE LOCKED UP IF SHE IS SEEN SUPPORTING WRONGDOING.
JJ Banda ran away from lawful custody and is in hiding, so where does this woman want to be taken for detention in exchange for her son? Kutumpa uko, nikupusa uko. Just tell your fugitive son to come out of hiding and face his charges.

Better lock her up together with her son when he is found because she has asked for it.
