The arrival of Prince Jacksonville Jacob Oyo from the United States could introduce a new chapter in Tooro Kingdom’s ongoing succession dispute.
According to a press release attributed to Prince Yoweri Komwiswa, the young prince is expected to arrive on Monday and be presented to Omusuuga and the Tooro Kingdom at Karuziika Palace on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
The development is significant because the Babiito succession process selected Prince Edward Kijanangoma after the committee said it had no child to consider.
However, members of King Oyo’s family have maintained that his purported written Will named a lawfully recognised biological son as heir.
If formally recognised, the prince’s presentation could therefore reopen questions surrounding the succession arrangements.
