The Arrogance is as Shocking as the Human Rights Abuses

I read the Statement issued by Chief Government Spokesperson, Cornelius Mweetwa, with trepidation.

The quick onset of arrogance in these officials only matches the dictorship and abuse of human rights that they have subjected citizens of the country.

They hide in “Edgar Lungu did this, Edgar Lungu did that”, but do  far worse!

This government abuses the Public Order Act with impunity. Right now it has detained GenZ National Coordinator, Jason Mwanza and his colleague Chanda Chikwakwa, for staging a lone protest, similar to what President Hakainde Hichilema did whilst in Opposition. But for Jason Mwanza, he did this with adequate police notification as required by law.

2. This government has previously threatened members of the clergy, including Catholic Priests, Fr. Anthony Kapambwe Salangeta and even went to the extent of issueinh a police call-out for Father Andrew Chewe Mukosa.

3. Recently, a senior member of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA), Mr. Chabe Webster, Copperbelt Conference President, resigned shortly after he gave what appeared to be strong snd scathing criticism against President Hichilema and the UPND Government. After this sermon, it is said that President Hichilema accosted the man of God in the vestry accusing him of not liking him and demanding to know who he was and where he was when he was mistreated by the Patriotic Front Government he had called patriotic in his Sermon.

4. Government has feequently threatened the media personel and bloggers. There are more people arrested for Criminal Defamation of the President, Criminal Defamation (even presidential aides take citizens to criminal courts, abusing state resources, instead of suing in their own capacity in civil proceedings).

Socialist Party President and PF Chairperson for Information and Publicity Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba are among persons arrested for alleged seditious practices for merely expressing their views and opinions.

Numerous numbers of bloggers, have been targeted and arrested.

5. Members of the Opposition have frequently faced arrests and harrasment on trumped-up charges.

6. The Opposition have not been allowed to hold public rallies save for the recnt two rallies finally approved to save face after 3 years of clamp down.
7. Corruption has reached unprecedented levels with State Chambers participation in the looting.
Instead of pledging temedial measures, the Government wishes to instead scandalise the Report.

  1. If you have nothing to say, just keep quiet because silence is golden.
Zambians understand the toxic nature of PF and it’s cadres. Good people work towards uniting the nation Good people don’t lie for the sake of getting one hated, rather, they act as a catalyst in resolving the country’s numerous challenges largely introduced and propelled by the same loud mouthed characters trying to shift blame on HH and the UPND.
Zambian people never forget the torture they went through with the PF who took them through what appeared to be like a long long nightmare, a terrible dream from which they have only awakened with the coming of the UPND and HH.
IF YOU PUT YOURSELVES IN HARM’S WAY, don’t expect not to be the ones to receive a standing ovation for your malice. You are as human as everyone else and what can happen to them will definitely happen to you, including being arrested for going against the law in trying to play to the gallery. Just behave normally and and you will be as free as the rest of the good Zambians.

IF YOU PUT YOURSELVES IN HARM’S WAY, don’t expect not to be arrested or to be the the ones to receive a standing ovation for your deliberate malice and past misdeeds that you tried to sweep under the carpet during your years of toxic governance. You are as human as everyone else and what can happen to them will definitely happen to you, including being arrested for going against the law in trying to play to the gallery or win sympathy.
Just behave normally and you will be as free as the rest of the good Zambians. Ask yourselves this simple question; Why are the rest of Zambians not being arrested?
Your problem is wanting to make Zambia ungovernable, trying to create Chaos for ordinary Zambians while you yourselves and your families have amassed enough to go and start your lives where you have stashed your bounties.
You will not succeed even with your schemes to take power even through unconventional means. Munagagwa will be made to understand that causing chaos in Zambia will only make the situation in that country worse. Russia and China have been all weather friends to Zambia and hired guns know just how excellent the Zambian army is.
Those communication systems including starlight phones that you may have and use are not exactly not porous. They are not airtight.
Just rescind your decision to disturbilize Zambia for the sake of power and you will have your peace like the rest of Zambians.
You have been given the opportunity to talk and all you have done with it is exposing your inner bitterness and intentions to reverse the gains made towards normalizing the situation in Zambia and now Zambians know that you don’t mean well for them.

  2. Zambia is governed by Zambian laws and those that break them to account. So far we are happy by government dismantling th MAFIA group pretending to a political party as government has a duty to protect it’s citizens. Imagine the Mafia group even available in churches and how can we be safe than destroying it?

  3. What kind of leaders shall they become if their role now is just to lie, they have life of pretence, breaking the law with impunity, spreading falsehoods and fake narratives. Why is it that some villagers in rural Zambia are not arrested but very educated people who can read and make laws or are making laws are the ones getting arrested for offences they know too well and can avoid. They don’t just love themselves.Their days on this earth are reducing each day that passes because they are already old by age and they want to be caged in small cells where they may get exposed to airborne diseases and pneumonia due to cold weather in the night. They want to gain political mileage and sympathy by breaking the law so that they may show political relevancy at the expense of their own health. They want to turnish the image of the government and country to the outside world. These people are irresponsible really because their political style is passive.

  4. Is this not the man that lied to us about Zesco?
Is this not the man that with Miles Sampa lied to us about Zambia National Building society? While the sale of Society House was done under the PF regime?
Now before he looks at himself he wants to forget the log in his own eye with the sedious charge and deflect to this?
What is ironic is that the same #UN Human Rights was quiet when this regime was in opppsition, now they want to be the wiser? Hogwash….deal with the instigators. Read what they write and ask if it adds value to Zambians and the doledrums they left the country.
