THE CASE OF GOD REVEALING ONE’S ENEMIES

A few days ago as I sat sunbasking next to one of the MPs, he received a call from another MP currently on duty abroad. As with his earlier calls, he put this chit chat on loud speaker.
They were just catching up on general topics but not until the MP on the other side diverted to “Have you seen Miles positioning himself for PF president with the fake opinion poll on social media. Have you seen how he is posting with ‘Together We Can’ line. Who does he think he is”
The MP seated on the same bench with me almost froze. “He is my relative that one”. He quickly brushed the topic aside.
I immediately got my phone and texted this MP currently in Europe explaining that I have no clue on people behind the opinion poll and more so that I have not stated anything on the PF presidency thus far. I also mentioned that ‘Together We Can’ is a line I started as Mayor in 2019 for my Ubuntu programmes of helping the vulnerable and poor. It has no political connotations.
He texted me back with blazing near insults calling me all sorts of names. Some MMD entrants into PF are very good people but this particular MP is in the habit of picking fights with anyone that was with Michael Sata in 2011 when PF defeated his original party MMD.
Then yesterday I overheard another candidate say “those social media polls are fake”. I then realized the opinion poll did not go very well with most within.
That said may I encourage whoever wishes to stand regardless of their tribe or origin (blue or green) do so and be allowed to. May anyone from any of the 10 provinces of Zambia exercise their right to stand if they so wish. After all the current overall determinant youth voters in Zambia have expressed themselves loudly that they care less about tribe but more of individual qualities and potential of any particular candidate.
May the social media opinion polls managers next time they conduct one ensure to include all candidates that want so stand for the shadow throne. May this MP that I heard verbatim abusing my name because of the last poll results also be included. Since he and others think social media polls are manipulated, may the poll managers consider manipulating results in their favour.
We will keep eyes on our ubuntu lane of assisting the vulnerable and poor in Matero. It’s gives us priceless joy.
