The East Africa Community regional force commander Maj. Gen. Jeff Nyagah has resigned. According to Africa Intelligence, DRC President Félix Tshisekedi was unhappy with Nyagah’s refusal to have the East African Community Regional Force he commands confront the M23 rebels directly. The senior officer says he was physically threatened by “mercenaries” and deplores facing political pressure.
