The Magistrate Court has shifted to the crime scene in the case of the 48 houses suspected to be proceeds of crime

A MAGISTRATE is currently conducting a scene visit in Chalala, Lusaka, in a case a couple is accused of concealing the infamous 48, now 51, houses.

The accused are Charles Loyana, a senior accountant in the Ministry of Finance, and his wife, Susan Sinkala, an assistant Accountant at the Ministry of Works and Supply.

The duo is charged with corrupt practices involving concealment and possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime.

It is alleged that between January 1, 2012 and June 30 2019, Loyana and Sinkala, while working with other unknown people, concealed 51properties valued K37,916,000, properties reasonably suspected to be proceeds of crime.
