THREE GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS IN CUSTODY OVER ALLEGED PLOT TO INTERFERE WITH ELECTIONS

Zambian authorities have detained three government officials accused of allegedly assisting individuals to interfere with the August 13, 2026 General Election.
The three are alleged to have been involved in a plot to destabilise the country ahead of the polls and to have provided technical services aimed at disrupting the electoral system.
Speaking during a press briefing, Permanent Secretary of Home Affairs and Internal Security Dickson Matembo said the names of the three former government officials would be disclosed once investigations are concluded.
Meanwhile, the State has invited Mr Japhen Mwakalombe, Mr Mwila Kakana and Mr Sensho Banda to assist with ongoing investigations.
Mr Matembo said the three were found in possession of a substantial amount of money, estimated at more than K7.3 million, whose source and intended purpose have yet to be established.
And Ministry of Information and Media Permanent Secretary Thabo Kawana says the government is on high alert and will not allow anyone to disrupt the peace the country is enjoying.
Wonders will never end. It is a true statement that crime never wins. This government is doing a great job in protecting us from internal and external threats.
Just imagine the evil intention of causing chaos during elections in order to make their preferred candidate win. This is wrong. Thank God for his intervention.
I only hope the proposed fasting will help bring to book all culprits of criminal elements. All mist be found and arrested.
Truth has a way of knocking the wind out of lies and speculation. This raises alot questions about the intention of some politicians aligned with these serious investigations. They can not be trusted with power.
@Mate, don’t be so gullible and swallow everything this crooked government feeds you. Be objective in your thinking and analysing situations. The question you need to ask yourself objectively is “What benefit does it bring to the opposition if they disrupt the election ? If the election is disrupted the sitting government benefits in the sense that they can cancel the election and continue to be in power. The Presidential has those powers. Everyone knows the opposition were fundraising through Social Media and the Zambian people gracefully responded to the call. This government of criminals whose time is ticking so fast wants to turn it against the opposition that they wanted to disrupt the election. It is cheap thinking and politicking to think someone wanting to disrupt the election would raise money the way NRPUP did. These are mere kicks of a dying horse. THE DIE IS CAST, ZAMBIA DECIDES TODAY, AND THE TYRANNY HAS 72 HOURS AND THE TITLE CHANGES TO FORMER PRESIDENT. The Bible says , the more they were oppressed the more they multiplied and God said “Let my people go so that they can worship me “ THE HOUR IS HERE FOR ZAMBIANS TO TRULY WORSHIP THEIR GOD WITHOUT FEAR TO GOD’S GLORY. OUR GOD IS UNIVERSAL, IT DOESN’T MATTER WHETHER YOU BELIEVE IN HIM OR NOT, HIS WILL IS PREVAILING OVER THE LAND OF ZAMBIA
