TOWERA KAIRA: “I AM HAPPILY MARRIED, PLEASE STOP INVENTING STORIES ABOUT MY FAMILY!”
The Moth Media
Sometimes, the internet forgets that behind every trending name is a human being with feelings.
Towera Kaira has broken her silence over what she describes as malicious attacks, fabricated stories and personal insults targeting her, her husband and even her family.
In an emotional response, Towera says she is happily married to a hardworking, supportive man and refuses to let strangers manufacture a troubled marriage simply because they cannot accept her happiness.
She also recalls confronting a blogger who had previously insulted her online, only for him to later seek forgiveness in person.
Disagree with her fashion, criticise her outfits if you must, but leave her family out of your online entertainment.
And perhaps the most painful part? She feels some people struggle to believe that a young, successful man could genuinely choose to love her.
Apparently, even love now needs social media approval!
There is a difference between public criticism and personal cruelty. You may not like someone’s dressing, lifestyle or opinions, but that does not give you a licence to invent stories about their marriage or humiliate their family.
Social media may reward insults with likes, but those likes won’t repair the emotional damage.
Sometimes, the most decent thing you can do is scroll past.
After all, you are not the husband, the wife, the landlord or the marriage counsellor.
