TRIBALISM, A THING OF THE PAST – NKOMBO

(ZANIS) Local Government and Rural Development Minister, GARY NKOMBO says the UPND has helped to restore peace and unity in the country which was destroyed due to tribalism.

Mr. NKOMBO says tribalism is a thing of the past which all well meaning Zambians should not condone.

He said this during the Lwendela traditional ceremony of the Kaonde speaking people of Kasempa District.

Mr. NKOMBO reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing collaborations with traditional leaders in upholding national values and principles.

And Labour and Social Security Minister, BRENDA TAMBATAMBA who also attended the event commended Kasempa residents for living in harmony.

Meanwhile Chief INGWE, who spoke through Royal Establishment General Secretary, FRANCIS SAOMBA commended President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA and his government for fulfilling campaign promises.

Chief INGWE cited the implementation of the free education policy, construction of chiefs palaces and increased Constituency Development Fund –CDF- which has seen youths benefiting through skills development as some of the achievements.

The traditional leader has encouraged his subjects to take advantage of the empowerment programmes that the government is implementing in order to improve their livelihoods.

  1. Gary Nkombo, bwana it’s either you have put plugs in your ears or just buried your head in sand not hearing your brothers and sisters from Southern province have embarked and embraced the motto, ‘it’s our time .’ The tribalism in work places are at an alarming level’s especially in civil service, parastatals even openly threatening taxis drivers for bus fees.
It will take some time and patience for those subjected to this behaviour to forgive those who have subjected them to unfair treatment and abuse just because they are not Tongas. Go to Zesco , HQ, kafue where innocent workers they even go together to church on Saturdays are reported to the police for no crime but evil deeds to see them get punished and locked up for no crime committed just because it’s not their time.

  2. This is the problem with Tongas! They are the worst tribalists but always want to brand other tribes, tribal! Tongas have been given chance to rule Zambia, since August 2021, may be by trial, and most Zambians who voted for them are regretting their “try” because it’s the worst experience that Zambians have had since 1964! Before August 2021 Tongas never wanted to work with any party in government, nor recognize any president in power because of being too tribal, they only recognized Hakainde Hichilema as their “president”! Now that “it’s their time to rule” they have made sure they show it that they don’t want to work with non Zambezi tribes and claim, “became they were sidelined by previous governments . . . . “! Truth is they were not sidelined by previous governments, they sidelined themselves because they are too tribal! However, good news is that Zambians have known what Tongas are made of, now! It will be very difficult for a Tonga man to win any future elections because of too much tribalism! So Nkombo can go on top of Mt. Kilimanjaro and tell the whole world lies that “tribalism went with previous government. . . . . “, but the whole knows the truth! That Upnd government is the most tribal government since 1964, and come 2026, they will be taught a big lesson by Zambian voters! They will lose very badly. Even rigging won’t help! They are already coming up with ways to rig by ECZ coming with senseless roadmaps like taking 7 days to announce presidential election results! So that they have more time to rig. In opposition would Hichilema have accepted to wait for 7 days before knowing if he had lost or won. It won’t be easy to rig because most Zambians don’t want Hichilema as president for another term! Because he has failed. Because people have never suffered the way they are suffering. So what is it that he wants with his Upnd for another term. He has failed, he wants to increase the number of years of failure? Inflict more suffering on innocent Zambians? Twapapata! Spare us this suffering we are going through. Let other leaders try their leadership skills as well, so that there can be no Tonga tribalism in country any more! Twapapata!
