TRUMP REVEALS TWO CLASHING INTEL REPORTS ON IRAN: ONE DECLASSIFIED SHOWS ASSASSINATION PLOTS IN ADVANCED STAGES

President Trump confirmed he possesses two sharply conflicting intelligence assessments on Iran, one of which has been declassified and warns that Tehran has pushed lethal plots against American personnel into advanced stages. In an exchange with reporters, Trump made clear he is tracking both streams of information closely and is not relying on any single report.

When asked whether a newly declassified assessment struck him as different from prior Iran intelligence, Trump replied: “Oh, they’re different. They’re two very different sets of intelligence reports. I have them both, but they’re very different. I have two very different sets, so.”

The declassified report specifically flags that Iran is in the advanced stages of attacks on the United States. Trump acknowledged the document but declined to detail the second set of intelligence: “Well, I have others, but I’m not going to say right now. But we have very advanced sets of intelligence on Iran, and we’re doing very well with Iran, as you know. But we have very advanced sets of intelligence on Iran. Some has been declassified, and some hasn’t. And I can’t tell you what the unclassified—”

The comments come as Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton sent an unclassified memo to Secretary of State and National Security Adviser Marco Rubio warning that Iran has substantially increased efforts to target U.S. personnel, with lethal plots reaching advanced stages in the Middle East and elsewhere.

The memo urged wider dissemination of the warning to at-risk staff. Trump has repeatedly signaled that military options remain on the table if Iran refuses to reach an agreement, underscoring that the United States is operating from a position of strength rather than waiting for Tehran to act.
